This past school year presented UTS with many challenges. Certainly the pandemic and the resulting development of our has been and will continue to be a primary focus for the school, but this is not our only concern. We are committed to ongoing efforts to address issues related to equity and inclusion and mental health and wellbeing. In the context of addressing COVID-19, these issues have become even more important. As a school community, we are consistently open to reviewing our policies and practices as well as our curriculum. We strive to question our assumptions, and to learn and improve to better meet the needs of our students. For the coming school year, we propose that the school community focus on four critical areas of school life, which have been identified by students, staff and parents as meriting review.
My commitment is to address these critical issues for our school community. Changing school culture, school programs, and school practices, is complex work which takes time. Progress can only happen with broad and committed engagement of the UTS community. We look forward to working with you and communicating our progress this coming year.
